Client Case Study Dani Claire - When I Grow Up
Client Case Study Dani Claire - When I Grow Up Um, do you know that Iâve coached hundreds of women since I started offering dream career guidance in 2008? And that these women are freakinâ rock stars, leaving soul-sucking jobs and traveling the world and launching creative, grown-up businesses and simply doing work that fits their lifestyle goals? Well ya do now â" and youâll hear their stories firsthand in my Client Case Studies series! Dani was part of last years Its Business Time program. She came to us as a current business owner, but there was much about it that didnt work for her at the time. Read more about her journey below! Why did you decide to enroll in Itâs Business Time? I enrolled in Itâs Business Time because needed to fine-tune my brand and offerings for my art business. I felt like I had a ton of ideas and things I wanted to do, but then would get overwhelmed which was paralyzing. I needed help narrowing and focusing and prioritizing ALL the things! I also wanted a kick ass website! As a graphic designer I could have designed my own site, but I would SO much rather create art! What were you doing work-wise when we started the program? I was working from home for a creative company as graphic designer designing marketing emails and graphics for multiple brands. What was your biggest takeaway from our work together? My biggest takeaway was that what I put out into the world doesnât have to be perfect and that experimentation is a really good thing, all of which is SO hard for me, a major perfectionist! I learned to be better at trusting myself and my instincts and that putting myself out there can be scary, but to do it anyway. I wonât lie, I still struggle with this every single day, but Iâm getting better at going for it. You never know until you try, right!?! Thanks Michelle, I still hear your encouraging voice in my head! What would you tell someone now that was in your shoes when we first started working together? Whatâs your best tip to allow them to make a grown-up living doing what they love? Prioritize your goals and break down the big scary ones into small manageable steps. Hold yourself accountable (/or get a friend to help) and reward yourself along the way! Most of all, trust yourself and what you believe in. Donât let fear stop you from achieving your dreams. What you are doing is important, so get to work doing it. Youâve got this! Whatâs on the horizon for your business? I have three main goals for the year. Goal #1 sell my art at a craft show for the first time. This is a scary one for the introvert in me, but also incredibly exciting! Goal #2 expand my product line to include journals and notepads. Iâm obsessed with both! Goal #3 start a wholesale side of my business. My dream is to see my products in shops!
